New York in the eyes of Louisa Corr comes to Ely! Babylon Arts Exhibition 2020

Louisa Corr’s painting of the New York skyline will exhibit in Ely this Summer at the Babylon Arts Exhibition 2020! This will be my first ever painting in a gallery and I am very excited! I have sold my paintings internationally online so this is a new world to me! Titled ‘Modern Times’, I painted this in 2013, and it is an original, one of a kind acrylic painting sized 60.5 x 61 x 2.01 cm on canvas. I look forward to everyone in Cambridgeshire coming to have a look up close.

Artwork based on German Drains in Gutersloh, Germany by Louisa Corr

This is an old piece I (Louisa Corr) did many years ago in Germany. There is something about the pattern of the drains in Germany that I really like and it is quite nostalgic for me whenever I see them again. It brings back memories as a child playing happily on roller blades or running around the German houses provided to us by the British Forces Army. Beautiful artwork by @louisacorr Tweet #louisacorr #art #painting #paint #germany #german #painter #collage #childhood #drai

Geometric Abstraction painting created by Louisa Corr ‘Droplet in Daylight’ 2006

‘Droplet in Daylight’ by Louisa Corr Droplet in daylight is a large, bold and architectural acrylic painting. While living in Doha, Qatar (2006), I felt inspired to paint the charming minarets, mosques and vibrancy of life in the traditional Souqs. This powerful image of the overshadowing blue ornament came to me in a dream, when I woke, I couldn’t wait to paint what I had visualised that night. Recently, I’ve come to believe it may be a subconscious symbol of a water droplet

I gave a Ricky Gervais a funny portrait painting I painted in New York City.

I love New York like a long distance boyfriend…nothing unusual there! I have been incredibly lucky having visited 11 times but once I was lucky enough to stay there for the summer of 2009 attending acting classes at the New York Film Academy. As soon as I arrived, I went to an art shop and bought paints and a few canvases as I couldn’t wait to paint in New York. Crazily, I painted in my shared hostel room and in central park. One of the portraits I painted during this time wa

It brings back memories as a child playing happily on roller blades or running around the German houses provided to us by the British Forces Army. Please bear in mind that is a bit worn at the edges as it is on paper and also as you can see in the photos, the back of the paper isn’t i

    ‘Halcyon Springs’

‘Halcyon Springs’ 59.50 x 80 x 3 cm (unframed) ‘Halcyon Springs’ was influenced by the inviting Hot Springs found in the Canadian Rockies. Hot Springs have great health benefits and I tried to reflect this through the transparent yellows, cerulean blues and cadmium greens. This painting can be found here. ‘Halycon Springs’ in a home interior http://www.artfinder.com/louisacorr My paintings will arrive to you safely and securely packaged as a signed and tracked delivery. Frank Skinner and a painter

This is me doing what I do best (paint) while Frank Skinner takes a look at my work and has a quick chat on how he likes that I have been different in my approach and chosen to paint a section of the Waddesdon Manor building and composition it for more of a dramatic effect. Where do I buy affordable original paintings from independent artists around the world ?

Buying art online is becoming increasingly more of a viable and exciting way of buying artworks. I talk from experience as I am an independent artists painting in my small flat in  London, a talent I wish to share with the world. As I work on gaining contacts, exposure and displaying my paintings in galleries, striving to become more well known, I am able to show case my world to an even bigger audience through my Art gallery online created by Artfinder an art online. ‘Orange Sky’ Acrylic Painting inspired by Doha, Qatar

‘Orange Sky’ painted by Louisa Corr in Doha, Qatar in 2006. Available for purchase on Artfinder. ‘Orange Sky’ by Louisa Corr, 2006 This is a large, bold and organically acrylic painting. Orange sky was inspired by the new sky scrapers being built around me the corniche during my time living in Doha, Qatar. They particularly interested me because so many magnificent buildings were being built but they had no one to move into them or work in them, they were all empty. I have fo

Art advice: How to make a homemade cold wax medium by artist LOUISA CORR

Heat up cold wax medium & turpentine on griddle ABSTRACT PAINTINGS I created a strong and intense abstract landscape painting ‘Land of the mind’ on my first attempt mixing my own cold wax medium with oil paint. If you have been wanting a way to heighten your colours in your oil paintings to create even stronger paintings and interesting layers, then you will want to experiment like I did (read on)! Even though I will be painting on a canvas, the best option for a work surface

Art celebrity news: Alan Davies watches me paint!

The ART of celebrity video bombing! by Alan Davies… For my first official art-land video for my blog I decided to paint in Hampstead Heath by the Affordable Art Fair. To my shock when I got home to view the footage, I realised I had had a surprise celebrity guest enjoy my work…in dare I say it a confused way (classic Alan Davies)! He made a detour down the grass to take a look and view my painting! As you can tell, I was so busy enjoying my artwork being admired by a fellow (
