About Artwork
This is an original portrait painting of Billie Eilish was painted in acrylic and washed over at the background places without a defining composition reflects her style that is forever changing and not set. This painting is of the photo Billie took when she first dyed her hair blonde and hit record breaking likes on Instagram. I have painted other celebrity portraits; this one is my favourite due to the design and composition, considering the angle of the face, hair length combined with the length of the canvas.
I take great pleasure in developing my portraiture work and have produced a series of large-scale, dramatic celebrity portraits. They are quite unique in stylistic terms and represent a fusion of realism with design and pattern based elements. They are painted in acrylics, metallic colours and enamel with the addition of a final protective layer using acrylic matt medium. Flowers are a constant theme in my paintings; I incorporates natural forms in many of her pieces and have still life series with a surreal element.
Materials
Artworks are created with either acrylic or oil paints often mixed with acrylic medium. More recent artworks are finished with a gloss and sometimes matte medium to bring the painting together and protect it for many years.
